Heroes Con Recap
Wow, now THAT is a well-run convention. I had attended 2 years ago, but this year's Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC was amazing-- clearly the most creator-centric con out there, and the appreciation from the fans is great. Had a chance to meet n' greet basically everyone that was there, see Adam and Allison again (always a plus), sell a few Absolute Zeroes #2 books (despite not even having a table), giving away a few to friends... all-around a fun time.
Oh yeah-- they have this annual contest called the Quickdraw where contestants get 20 minutes to "create a masterpiece". Past winners include Mike Wieringo and Casey Jones yadda yadda well, I had nothing better to do at the time so I participated and won. Kelly participated, too, and hers was lots of fun. Here's some pics:

My hastily-assembled piece
Kelly's entry
Pretty cool, too-- I won some cool stuff, including a free pass to next year's Heroes Con. Fun times. The judges loved Kelly's piece, as did the indy/alternative comics guys, who said they liked her piece more than mine. Go figure ;) .
Oh yeah-- more Heroes photos

(might I add George here was waltzing with my wife down the aisle at the end of the con-- nicest guy I've ever met)

Heroforge Sketchbook Assemble!
Sent off the Heroforge Ink 2006 Sketchbook to the printers yesterday before sleep, and I think it looks pretty good (especially for a book assembled in about a week). I am frazzled, hoping it will be in my hands in time for Chicago (especially since that's what it was designed FOR). Oh, here's the cover.
See me in Chicago-- buy one. It'll make my day.
New games
Traded in several games before Heroes Con for some new ones. Picked up the PSP GTA that was ported to the PS2, some old school 1980's retro game compilations (yeah, I'm that guy), an RPG or two for Kelly, and a few others I forget. We've only played the 80s pack so far-- we've been trying to finish Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube while we had the chance. We've had it since 2004 and just never got around to finishing the mammoth adventure. We're at the end now, though-- it's been a blast finishing it.
Kelly begins anew
Kel starts her job as a school psychologist today. Should be a great experience.
