Okay, okay-- the blog update

Yeah yeah-- stop emailing or calling me and asking me to update my blog-- I've been busy, okay? ;)   Lots to cover, less intro more body.

Mid-Ohio Con Report
Kelly and I drove the 11 hours up to the Midwest for the con (well, 8 or so to Columbus, Ohio, but we stopped off at my folks' place since we were in the general area for Thanksgiving), and believe it or not, it's a lot easier to drive long distances overnight... at least for me. You have to deal with far less traffic, you don't see the sun rise and set during the trek, and uh... it's easier? I can't think of another reason, it's early.

The con was great (again, for me, at least)... the new location was really easy to manage, I sold out of everything on my table (literally, except one issue of Absolute Zeroes #2, which has since sold online and then some), did tons of sketches, was able to really get to know a lot of contacts and hang with Nate Lovett and his wife Amber, as well as Jamie Snell and Andrew Froedge, also friends from online. The pre-party was a lot of fun, too-- took a few minutes to get swingin', but before long it was a great time.  A lot of the Penciljackers bailed on us, but we had a fine time nonetheless. Downtown Columbus is great.

Cool comics, toys, and other at the con? I picked up very little, actually. There were some great deals on the floor, but I only picked up 4 Marvel Legends figures I was looking for-- Beta Ray Bill, Loki, classic Green Goblin, and first appearance (more like Art Adams) Thing. Oh, and Tom Strong. Picked up some friends' comics and art from Jamie, Nate, Sean, Gene, Adam, Scott, The Deff, Mike... I know I'm forgetting someone... Oh well.

And Gene was kind enough to devote an entire blog post to Kelly and I and his con adventure. Great guy, we had a wonderful time getting to know him when several of us hit dinner one night:

Absolute Zeroes 4 cover inks

Pencils by Jeremy Dale (me, obviously) and inks by Jamie Snell (aka ragelion, click for website). Thanks, Jamie! Looks great. On to the colorist!

All I want for Christmas
... is a Nintendo Wii. Make it so, Santa-- or face the wrath of a tired artist! For serious, it looks awesome and I wants me one.

Other Holiday festivities
Kelly and I went to our church's Children's Christmas thing. Cute kids! Is it bad that our first reaction afterward was missing our dog, Beta Ray? Perhaps! No kids on the horizon for us for a long while, God willing. Puppies are much cooler, and here's proof (thanks to Keith for sending this over):

Speaking of my career...
Oh, we weren't? Oh well. There are some really cool things on the horizon for me, and I'm truly amazed with how the pieces fall into place sometimes. Thanks for all the support, guys! Enough hype, just wanted to mention that.

Okay, gotta take off. Have a good one, and have a great holiday season!
